The Power of Education
Living in a digital world with ever-changing technology, the education system looks – and feels – very different from how students learned 20 years ago. From new devices to increased expenses, this can be an overwhelming change for parents. Aside from this, online school has become a mainstream form of education since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. With this abundance of educational resources and countless new options for learning, where do you even begin? That’s where we come in.
About the Music and Language Learning Center

Adapting to the changes of today’s society shouldn’t be a struggle, which is why the Music and Language Learning Center, or the MLLC, is here to help. With our online language and music courses, our mission is to help your child grow and provide high-quality resources for education – regardless of what level they’re learning at.

Although our courses are taught through virtual instruction, all of us here at the MLLC understand that online education is an adjustment – which is why we want to make your experience as comfortable as possible. As the power of education is extremely valuable to us, we want to accommodate students from all around the world by offering scholarships and discounts to anyone who needs it. At the MLLC, we want to do our part to ensure that education isn’t limited!

Why Should I Learn Language and Music?

For many, learning a language or studying music is inferior to core curricula like math and science. What they don’t realize, however, is that they’re just as important. When children study music, they’re unknowingly enhancing skills that are often used beyond music education, including memorization and coordination.

Additionally, music is known to improve mental health. Immersing yourself in music can decrease stress and increase dopamine; whether or not you struggle with your mental health, this aspect of music education proves to be beneficial to everyone!

The study of music also has a direct correlation to language development, when children begin to process and understand basic communication. According to a PBS article, the part of the brain used for language processing is more developed in children who undergo musical training. In other words, music education enhances parts of the brain in a way that other disciplines can’t achieve.

Aside from music, learning a second language is a powerful tool that allows people to learn about other cultures. Not only does it expand one’s communication skills, but it also fosters open-mindedness toward the different experiences and lifestyles of others. As a language student myself, the excitement of learning a new language, Japanese, encouraged me to learn about Japan’s culture as well. This opened me up to a whole new world I had previously known little about, and I have become very grateful for this education!

And the best part about studying music and language? There are no age limits! It’s never too late to try something new. When I started learning Japanese in 2021, I was 20 years old. However, as I’m approaching two years since I first began these courses, I continue to learn something new every day and find language education to be a very rewarding experience – no matter how old I am!

Final Words

Learning a language isn’t easy. It requires a lot of dedication, and it’s easy to feel discouraged when progress isn’t happening as expected. However, it is absolutely worth the trouble to learn Portuguese. To connect with people, engage with culture, and access new work opportunities… Vale a pena (it’s worth it)!
