The Music & Language Center provides high-quality, interactive, online music and language instruction to learners everywhere. The MLLC was founded by Kristine Dizon who wanted to combine her passions for language and music to share with students all over the world.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the highest quality and level of language & music instruction for all levels. The Music & Language Center wants to accommodate all students from all backgrounds. There are scholarships and discounts available for those who are in need. 

Welcome to the Music & Language Learning Center! We offer a range of educational services to help you achieve your goals in music and language learning. Our live online classes, individualised tutoring, and self-paced courses are available in French, Portuguese, and Spanish for all levels.

In addition to language classes, we also offer Music Theory, Music Appreciation, Ear-Training, and Music History classes. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamentals and help you develop a deep understanding of music. We also offer test preparation courses for the ABRSM and Trinity College of Music theory exams.

Our talented teachers will work with you to help you develop your skills and reach your full potential as a musician. FOUNDER & HEAD TEACHER

Kristine Dizon is a multi-faceted performer, teacher, writer, author, linguist, and entrepreneur. She is Founder & CEO of The Modern Artist Project, Music & Language Learning Center and co-founders of the Gran Canaria International Clarinet Festival and American Single Reed Summit.
 
Kristine has taught and performed in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She served as faculty at the Philarmonie de Paris – Projet DEMOS, the Orchestre á l’école program at the Conservatoire de Montargis, and the Minnesota Project Opera. She served as visiting faculty at the University of Saint-Joseph in Macau, China where she taught modules in sound production. She recorded her debut CD with concert pianist, Dr. Lindsay Garritson titled ‘An American in Paris’ scheduled for digital release in October 2022 and another recording ‘Two of a Kind’ with Radovan Cavallin, principal clarinet of the Orquesta Filarmonica de Gran Canaria featuring works written for two clarinets for release in 2023. She was named a finalist for the International Clarinet Research Competition in 2014, 2017, and 2021. She recently self-published ‘Achieving Virtuosity: Complete Scales & Arpeggios for the Intermediate Clarinetist’.
 
Kristine received a full scholarship at the University of Montreal for her ‘doctorate en musique’ and certificate in advanced studies in contemporary conducting at the Conservatorio Svizzera Italiana. Recipient of the Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia grant, she completed her PhD at the Universidade de Catótlica Portuguesa for “Remaking: The Reshaping of Sound in Portuguese Musical Comedies.” As a Fulbright scholar, she completed postgraduate studies at the Escola Superior de Música Artes e Espectáculo. She received her ‘prix de perfectionnement’ from the Conservatoire de Versailles with Philippe Cuper and ‘diplome de direction d’orchestre’ from École Normale de Musique de Paris. She holds a master’s degree in clarinet performance from Southern Illinois University and Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in European History and Music.
 
She is an artist for Uebel Clarinets and Silverstein Works.

Firstly, Ms. Dizon is a great combination of friendly and fun mixed with down-to-business instruction. It's been a struggle to find a good European Portuguese class - especially one that can hold a child's interest for more than 5 mins! Ms. Kristine ticks all the boxes. Kristine is excellent! She clearly is gifted at languages but also at making the course fun and engaging for the kids. She is encouraging but also gives students corrections so they learn proper grammar and pronunciation. The assignments are helpful in reinforcing what is learned each week. My 16 year old homeschooled son, Sawyer just completed the beginner course and really enjoyed it. As a parent educator you want your child to be able to partake in the things they are intrested in even when you can't provide that for them directly. Music Theory for All Levels: Private Tutoring 1:1

Music Theory made fun! Kristine's love of music and teaching are a wonderful combination which inspire even the younger musicians. My daughter has been studying music theory with Kristine for the past 6 months and it has been a very enjoyable experience for her. Kristine tailors the pace to how well she understands the material and sets extra homework outside of the book where more practice is needed. Homework is reviewed with the student in class and then corrections are also sent through so you can review this later. The goal is not just memorizing the rules to pass the exam but studying music theory so it stays for the long-term. Kristine is a very positive person and I highly recommend her classes.

Music Theory for All Levels: Private Tutoring 1:1

My daughter (age 11) was somewhat reluctant to take this, thinking it would be super boring. After having had two lessons however, she insisted on continuing. While of course there is some tedious homework, Kristine manages to make the lessons both engaging and fun, and is very adept at adjusting content to the students level and interest. Kristine did a great job working with my 9-year-old son on clarinet fundamentals, which my beginner clarinet player very much needed. She is open and approachable and engaging, while at the same time paving a path for students to grow and mature in their technique and musical expression. I also appreciate that she gives students the opportunity to proceed at the pace of their choice: they can submit practice videos during the week to get feedback and additional assignments before the next lesson, or they can keep the pace more deliberate if they need to focus on mastering something. She also shared theory and sheet music exercises online with us and gave us helpful advice on purchasing an appropriate reed. Thank you!
