Soprano Fei Xia began learning piano at 9, before going on to pursue her vocal studies. She earned the BA degree in Music Education from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in China; the MM degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Miami and an Artist Diploma from Montclair State University. She will be earning her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance in Fall 2023.
As a professional classical singer, She is currently on soprano roster of Vocal Artists Management. she has been engaged by several opera companies including Vienna Opera Festival, NYLOP, Angels Vocal Arts Opera Company, Manhattan Opera Studio, Connecticut Lyric Opera Young Artist Program, and more. Ms. Fei made her Carnegie Hall debut as Juliette in Romeo et Juliette with New York Lyric Opera. She was invited to perform again at Carnegie Hall, singing the role of Giulietta in Les contes d'Hoffmann. Major opera roles include Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Second Lady and Pamina in Die Zauberflote, Gretel in Hansel und Gretel, Manon in Manon, Angelica in Orlando.
A prizewinner of numerous competitions, Ms. Fei was recently awarded Second Prize in the International Youth Music Competition. Other accolades include First Prize in the following competitions: American Protege International Vocal Competition, Golden Classical Awards International Music Competition, “The Song” International Vocal Competition, and etc.
As a voice teacher, Ms. Fei has built up her own private music studio in New York City. She teaches vocal, piano, and music theory.
