Ana Pizarro is a Portuguese and English teacher from Lisbon, Portugal. Her passion for languages and culture led to her acquiring her bachelor's in Portuguese and English from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, followed by a master's in Culture and Communication from Universidade Clássica de Lisboa.
Knowing how discouraging it can feel to learn another language, her main goal when teaching is instilling confidence in her students. Often, she'd find people who felt shameful for not being successful in structured language classes, which lead to her adaptation of teaching methods to individual students. With this, she saw an increase in engagement and motivation, which she is incredibly proud of.
Ana loves integrating her own culture into her classes, whether it be through music, food, gestures, or expressions. Do you know what it means to stay in codfish waters? Come find out!
