New Year, New Adventures at the Music & Language Learning Center!

Giving and receiving gifts is a lot of fun, isn't it? I hope that all your gifts that were given were appreciated and enjoyed, and I hope that the gifts given to you were also enjoyed on that day and will be for weeks or months to come. Maybe you didn't get what you wanted and are debating doing something for yourself or your family. Now that the holidays are winding down and we start planning and dreaming about the new year ahead of us, I have some suggestions for you to think about!

Did you get a trip to a new place to experience new cultures, a new language, new customs, and new adventures? Or maybe that is something that you would like to plan for in this new year. Whether you go to France or elsewhere in Europe or Rio de Janeiro in South America, you probably want to learn a bit about the culture and try to learn some of the language that you'll be experiencing. The Music and Language Learning Center offers lessons in French, Spanish, and Portuguese – both Brazilian and European. These lessons will give you a chance to speak and understand words and phrases that you might hear from instructors who are knowledgeable and experienced. They can even share some tips about travel to that locale.

   Did you receive a new instrument and want to learn about it, or have you always wanted to learn more about music and appreciate it more? Once again, the Music and Language Learning Center can help you! We offer various types of classes in music theory like the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity College, or general theory to help you understand what those little black dots, symbols, and terms on the page mean. Maybe you want to learn more about music history – we've got you covered with classes in everything from early music like the Renaissance or the classical period to the history of jazz or rock and roll. What about appreciating music and learning more about dances performed around the world? Again you can find what you need at the Music and Language Learning Center. We even have lessons in clarinet, guitar, voice, sight-singing, ear training, and conducting! Nervous about being a part of a class or having a limited amount of free time? We even offer private one-on-one lessons with a professional educator if that gives you more confidence or works for your busy life!

   The Music and Language Learning Center is a place where you can learn and accomplish many things – from different languages to different aspects of the art of music! January is often a time for making some New Year's resolutions. Make a resolution for yourself – to challenge yourself, to learn something new, to better yourself, and to reach your full potential and more! Plan for it now – before you know it, we'll be looking at the whirlwind of the holidays and a new year again!
